Poems reveal the magic of language. It
really amuse us by the way it spills emotions between lines,be it any language.
Out of the many poems, I have learned in my schooldays , I enjoyed going
through every inch of the poem " Sooryakanthi". Ah! How well the
poet pictorizes the eternal love between the sun and sunflower with his
beautiful lines. It's classic-Both the love and the poem.!!
Drawing inspiration from this
beautiful poem, I tried out writing one sticking on to the same concept.
THE PINK LADY AND THE MIGHTY SUN
The sun blazed down on her.
Sunbeams fell on her petals
Glints of glory on her face.
The shining sun enquired
“Oh !Pink lady ,who are you?
Why do you always gaze upon me?
I’ll be pleased to hear you ,well…!”
The timid lady smiled ,and
Bowed down her head at the sun
“Oh! I'm the lady lotus,
Show mercy to me if I’m wrong
I live in the dirty pond and
You in the mighty sky
The world around laugh at me
As I aspire for you…
The sun grew brighter and brighter
The lady lotus glistened with tears
The sun wiped out her tears and even
The Venus of her heaven knelt before them.
As the dusk grew on,the sun grew red.
It disliked to bid goodbye .And said
"I wish to be with you till the
doomsday
But the darkness will separate us over and
over
Come my lady,I’ll carry you in my golden
Chariot."
But the modest lady told the sun.
“Oh! no , my lord! The bonds of love
Grow only with our departure!”
